Each year, the Forum for Health Policy awards a prize where patients themselves nominate their healthcare providers. This year, the prize went to the Asthma/COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) team at Capio Orust Proximity care centre for their work with digital tools that create security and continuity, after patient Berit Strandberg Mattsson nominated her team.
Being good at different things strengthens the team and helps the patient
At Capio Orust, the staff work in teams around each patient. The goal is for the patient to be able to see the same healthcare provider, both for planned and emergency visits. Johan Ellegård is the manager at the proximity care centre and he believes that it is this approach that is one of the factors for their Asthma/COPD clinic being awarded this year’s patient prize by the Forum for Health Policy.
